grading services

Grading is an evaluation carried out by specialized companies that authenticate and grade your collectibles, assigning them a grade between 1 and 10 based on the state of preservation of the item.

For cards, there are four key points. Corners, edges, surfaces and centering. The cards are then placed in a tamper-proof plastic case with a label showing information about the card, the grade received, and a unique certification code.

Currently PSA is the most popular and most sought-after grading house among collectors worldwide, grading about 1 million cards a month compared with 50 to 60 thousand for other companies.

Orders begin with booking the service by filling out our form. You will need to select the service you want to book and enter the list of cards you want to send us.

At the end of the process you will receive a master mdoule with instructions on shipping, place it in the package along with your cards, and mail them to the address given.

Let us know when you send us your cards, and if you need to contact us by email please indicate your first and last name in the request so we can confirm receipt of your package.

After we confirm that we have received your papers and approved your request you don't have to do anything else, we will take care of all the procedures for you.
You just have to be patient and wait for the return.
We will keep you updated periodically during the most important developments in the process.

Place them inside a transparent soft sleeve (not perfect) and then inside a semi-rigid cardsaver or inside a toploader, do not tape over the opening of the semi-rigid/toploaders, rather wrap them with bubble wrap.

All the major grading houses agree to grade only cards inside the semirigids, and all middleman use the semirigids to send your cards to these houses.

Purchasing and using semirigids instead of toploaders has significant advantages:

- At the same quantity, the cost of semirigids is lower

- At the same quantity, the volume occupied by semirigids is considerably less than that of toploaders

- The papers you send us inside the semirigids are ready to be sent to PSA and do not need to be prepared, greatly decreasing the time for which they need to be handled

- Receiving the ready-made cards allows us to speed up the processing process before sending them to PSA

Being Official Dealers we have no set deadlines to meet for standard services. You can send us your cards whenever you want and within 15 days they will be shipped to PSA. For special services, however, you must request a quote. Usually special shipments are arranged every 2 months.

We try to process and ship your cards as quickly as possible but it will depend on the volume of orders, in any case, your cards will not remain for more than 15 days at our location.
* Exceptions may arise in case of concurrence with fairs we participate in or holidays

Turnaround times vary depending on the type of service chosen and are indicated on the page where the various active services are listed; however, they are predictions of the companies themselves and are not guaranteed to be met 100%.

There may be external factors that cause delays in PSA's performance of the process, but please understand that they are solely dependent on PSA and that we have no ability to intervene if timelines are not met.

Grading Supplies Italy can only process and send your papers to the various companies as quickly as possible.

Yes you can insure your order for the market value of the ungraded paper/figure.
Insurance is not included in the cost of the service and can be taken out at a cost of 1% of the value you want to insure.

The values for which you want to insure must be realistic and will be verified and approved by our staff.

In the event that we find the required insurance values too high you will be promptly contacted by a staff member with whom you will agree on the correct insurance values.

Our insurance covers international Italy-U.S. and U.S.-Italy shipments; it will be the customer's responsibility to get their cards to us safely.

Being official brokers we have the ability to create multiple orders within a single shipment.

Using our database and a filing system we have the ability to separate orders for each customer (in each case checks are made during all stages of the process).

This way your order will be nominal and receive a unique code, will be shipped separate from all other customers' orders, and will never come into contact with other people's cards.

Unfortunately, over the years we have come to realize that the prevoto service, although useful, turns out to be a process that significantly delays the time it takes to process your papers.

In addition, since we are the ones providing the brokerage service we prefer to remain neutral about a possible grading or not of one of your collectibles and eliminate the possibility that you might think of possible conflicts of interest.

For this reason we do not currently offer this service, we ask you to check and consider well which papers to send us for grading.

The description of the various grading services shows the maximum value because PSA divides its services according to the value of the cards we send.

The higher the value of a card, the faster (and more expensive) the service you choose to use should be.

Yes, you can send your cards even if they have a value higher than the indicated "maximum value" of a service, but if the value is significantly higher than the maximum value of the service you have chosen, PSA may charge an additional fee when you return.

The surcharge charged by PSA is not a fee, but simply the price difference between the cost of the service you used and the cost of the service you should have used for your card.

Example (prices and values given are causal and used to simplify understanding):

  • I decide to send a card worth $499 with a cheap service for $199 worth of cards
  • the cheap service for $199 cards costs €25 while the service for $499 cards costs €30
  • at the time of return PSA may require payment of the difference of the two services i.e. 30€-25€=5€ additional.

This is not a certain but possible process, so it is important to be aware of this situation.
In the example given, mid/low-end cards are being considered; on cards with considerably higher values, the surcharge that will be charged by PSA could be much higher.

PSA has a department that is in charge of consulting card values after grading and places them in a certain value range.

It uses major international sales platforms such as the world's leading auction houses, PWCC, Goldin, Heritage and Ebay's sellers to do so.

PSA automatically charges surcharges to Grading Supplies Italy so you cannot refuse to pay the surcharge.

Each client is properly informed about the performance of the service.

Yes, it is possible. Before sending us your cards, please contact us to let us know where you are shipping from and we will evaluate together how to arrange various shipments.

Grading Supplies Italy does not officially support orders consisting of multiple people.

If you wish to send cards with other people within a single order, we recommend that you do not send duplicate cards because, for our server, they will result as within a single order and therefore have a single code.

Grading Supplies Italy will not separate your package, our responsibility is to return the cards to you correctly.

To become an authorized PSA broker, one must meet several company requirements and have experience and expertise in the field.

Indeed, it is necessary to ensure a certain standard of quality, both procedurally and in terms of safeguards, for its clients.

There are currently only 4 licensed intermediaries in the European Union and 3 in Great Britain.

Official intermediaries are entered directly into the portal of the grading company.
